CeCe Winans
Priscilla Marie “CeCe” Winans’ father and her nine siblings were all gospel singers, who performed in church and at family concerts.
∙ CeCe’s father, “Pop” Winans, allowed only gospel music at their home in Detroit, but the Four Tops lived nearby, and she heard Motown music on the radio and at school.
∙ Her debut solo album, 1995’s Alone in His Presence, was the first of her five Grammy Award-winning albums under her own name.
∙ Winans was close friends with Whitney Houston, and their duet “Count on Me”—from the soundtrack for 1995’s Waiting to Exhale—was her highest-charting single.
∙ In 2010, after a 16-year break from recording, CeCe reunited with her older brother BeBe on the Grammy Award-winning Still, their seventh album as a duo.
∙ Her son, Alvin Love III, produced and wrote songs for her 2017 album, Let Them Fall in Love.
∙ CeCe is the best-selling and most-decorated gospel artist of all time, with 12 Grammys and 23 Dove Awards to her name.
