Shiloh Dynasty
Shiloh Dynasty is a deliberately mysterious singer and guitarist from Maryland whose melancholic lo-fi vocals went viral on Vine before being widely sampled by artists like XXXTentacion.
• In 2014, Shiloh Dynasty’s Vine videos began going viral. In grainy six-second clips recorded by phone, the enigmatic singer offered somber melodies and evocative lyrics.
• Later in 2014, Dynasty expanded to full songs, uploading “DownTown” and “Nicole’s Garden” to free streaming platforms.
• In 2016, Dynasty went on an unexplained hiatus, prompting fans and former associates to publicly speculate about the artist’s death. Management denied those rumors in 2019.
• A producer named Swell looped and remixed one of Shiloh’s Vine into “I’m Sorry”, a song that now has well over 100 million streams.
• Three platinum songs on rapper XXXTentacion’s 17 album sample Dynasty: “Jocelyn Flores”, “Everybody Dies In Their Nightmares”, and the confessional “Carry On”.
• During a Reddit AMA, XXXTentacion producer John Cunningham confirmed that XXX and Shiloh met in a Los Angeles studio.
• Young Thug and Juice WRLD sampled Dynasty on “Climax” (2018) and “Run” (2019), respectively.
